By leveraging open-source geospatial technology, Foggy Mountain Mapping builds real-world solutions for everyday operational challenges. Core services span the full spatial pipeline, including LiDAR and point cloud processing, procedural 3D visualization, and custom workflow design.
As an independent consultancy, Foggy Mountain Mapping proudly supports First Nation development groups, crown land forestry licensees, private landowners, researchers, and forestry consultants who require dependable spatial data/project management support for field operations and reporting.
Nick Hadaller, RFT - Owner & Operator#
Nick Hadaller is a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) with over a decade of hands-on experience bridging the gap between forestry operations and spatial data engineering.
His career began in 2014 planting trees in the northern BC interior. This sparked a trajectory the led to 6 years of harvest block layout, road design, and field crew supervision on Vancouver Island and the mainland coast, shifting to dedicated technical roles specializing in geospatial systems since 2023.
Today, Nick combines his foundational field experience with advanced expertise in open-source GIS technology. His technical focus includes spatial data management, automated pipeline engineering, LiDAR inventory analysis, individual tree segmentation, and 3D visualization of forestry operations. This dual perspective—understanding both the physical realities of the woods and the architecture of spatial databases—ensures that every solution provided is practical, accurate, and built for actual production environments.
